We are funded by the Community Adult Learning Program, under the Advanced Education Ministry. We as Hinton Employment and Learning Place also known as Hinton Adult Learning Society has been operating since 1984 where we provide many opportunities much like the Family Literacy.
HELP has been running Family Literacy Programs since 2017 which focus on the ADULT learner. Primarily on essential skills of the learner such as Oral communication, numeracy, reading, writing, digital technology and more.
Learning alongside children or learning for their children's sake in a safe, non-threatening way and connecting adults to lifelong learning is the ultimate outcome.
Literacy develops in families first! Parents are a child's first and most important teachers, so it is important for a parent to learn many ways of communication and other literacy tips and tricks to help children grow.

This is a 32 Week Program ran similar to a short preschool session. Where children ages 2-6 and their caregivers can participate and be in a very supportive environment.
There will be many skills learned such as increase literacy, socialization, cooking skills, and fun activities for both parents and children.
This is a 4 week program where babies 0-12 months and under and their care givers can come and learn. learn about how to use books with babies in a safe, fun atmosphere! And Receive 4 books FREE

This course is for newcomers to Canada! Geared towards bringing literacy into the home and giving newcomers the English skills to help you and your children grow. Learn rhymes, songs and stories to share will your child. As well as discuss parenting strategies with other parents.
Classes are Mondays 9:00am-11:00am
