The Hals offices will be closed on May 12 & 13 for our regional meeting. We will be joining adult learning offices in our region for updates and training opportunities. The Best of the Vancouver Interanational Mountain Film Festival (VIMFF) returns, thanks to the Wildland Forest Firefighters. Each year the Wildland Firefighters host a fun run, silent auction, and a showing of VIMFF. As a way to give back to the community, they choose a local charity to donate their fundraising efforts to, and this year, HALS is the lucky recipient.
Tickets are available at the Hinton Library, the Wild Orchid, and the Old Grind. Advanced tickets are $12, or you can hope tickets are still available at the door for $15. This is the best movie night in Hinton, and tickets generally sell out, so buy yours early.
The doors open at 6:30 pm and the movies start at 7:00 pm.
Curious about trades? Visit the Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre on April 30 from 5:00-7:00 pm to learn about a variety of trades in Alberta. Find out great information on employment opportunities, school, and apprenticeship. Great for those in high school or those that are considering a career change. It's never too late to learn something new and obtain a job you love.
